Belize lived up to expectations and proved to be the most expensive country on the entire trip. Even so, it can be traveled on a relative budget. You might simply have to pass up on a few more pricey activities.
Note: Despite having the highest per day total, Belize can be traveled on a budget. The highest part of my cost was the diving in Caye Caulker (about $130 US) and the ATM cave tour in San Ignacio ($73US). Considering we only spent 6.5 days in the country, such pricey excursions quickly inflate the daily expenditures. If not for those two items, you can get by on relatively little.
Belize – 6.5 Days | $67 | PPPD |
Transportation | $37 | $6 |
Food | $107 | $16 |
Accommodations | $61 | $9 |
Sights | $228 | $35 |
Miscellaneous | $0 | $0 |
